The Boat
F/V Cornelia Marie
Few fishing vessels are as recognizable or as legendary as the F/V Cornelia Marie. Built in 1989 in Bayou La Batre, Alabama, this 128-foot crab fishing vessel has spent decades navigating the unforgiving waters of Alaska's Bering Sea. With her distinctive blue hull, impressive fishing capacity, and unmistakable presence, the Cornelia Marie has become one of the most iconic boats in commercial fishing. Known around the world through Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch, she is more than just a fishing vessel. She represents the courage, determination, and relentless work ethic of the men who make their living on one of the world's most dangerous seas.

The Legacy
The Cornelia Marie's history is forever intertwined with that of the late Captain Phil Harris, one of the most beloved and unforgettable personalities in Deadliest Catch history. With his larger-than-life personality, unmistakable humor, and fearless approach to fishing, Phil helped turn the Cornelia Marie into a household name. His leadership, passion, and dedication to his crew left an enduring mark on the fishing industry and on millions of viewers worldwide. Following his passing in 2010, the Cornelia Marie remained a powerful symbol of his legacy, carrying forward the spirit of a captain who lived and breathed the Bering Sea. Today, every journey she makes is another chapter in a story that began long before the cameras started rolling, a story built on hard work, loyalty, perseverance, and the generations of fishermen who have called her home.
The Team
Today, the Cornelia Marie is embarking on an exciting new chapter under the ownership of Kari Toivola, Roger Thomas, and Jake Albinio, with Captain Jake Anderson taking the helm during crab fishing season. Bringing together decades of experience, determination, and a shared passion for the Bering Sea, the team is committed to honoring the vessel's legendary past while building a strong future. Joining them is Kristjan Toivola, Kari's son, who proudly continues his family's fishing tradition as part of the crew. Alongside our engineer and deckhands, this dedicated team carries forward the spirit of hard work, resilience, and camaraderie that has always defined the Cornelia Marie. Together, they're not just keeping a legendary vessel fishing — they're writing the next chapter of her story.
